RACIST INCIDENTS TRAINING PACKAGES
YOS: MRC works with youth offending services and provides training packages on working with racially motivated offenders effectively.
CHALLENGING DISCRIMINATION: This page outlines a training package MRC provides on challenging discriminatory behaviour when working with young people. The training prgramme focuses on race, religion, sexulaity, age, gender & disability.
INTERNATIONAL WORK: MRC has worked in the USA and craeted packages on anti-bullying and racial harassment which are being used in New York.
I AIN'T RACIST BUT: MRC created a toolkit for youth workers so they could deal with racist incidents effectively. The toolkit won an international award.

MRC has extensive experience of working with young people within school and youth centre settings. MRC has developed a coherent understanding of the nature of racism in the lives of young people and specialises in working with young people from Key Stage 2 - 4 on this area. The work of MRC has focused on:

Preventative work, which challenges racist stereotypes and explores the history of racism
Giving young people an understanding of, and skills to tackle racism
Youth sessions on citizenship, identity and refugee and asylum seekers
Research on the impact of racism on young people
Developing pride in ones self-identity
Delivering support groups for BME young people exploring identity, internalised oppression and empowerment.
