MRC has extensive experience of working with young people within school and youth centre settings. MRC has developed a coherent understanding of the nature of racism in the lives of young people and specialises in working with young people from Key Stage 2 - 4 on this area. The work of MRC has focused on: • Preventative work, which challenges racist stereotypes and explores the history of racism • Giving young people an understanding of, and skills to tackle racism • Youth sessions on citizenship, identity and refugee and asylum seekers • Research on the impact of racism on young people • Developing pride in ones self-identity • Delivering support groups for BME young people exploring identity, internalised oppression and empowerment.
